General Admission Requirements

The following information is intended for German applicants as well as domestic educational applicants. Different regulations and deadlines may apply for international prospective students.

Admission to a university degree program requires a higher education entrance qualification. Traditionally, the Abitur serves as proof of a general higher education entrance qualification and grants access to all fields of study at universities and higher education institutions.

In addition, there are other entrance qualifications that permit the study of certain subjects. General access to higher education is also available to master craftsmen and equivalent qualified individuals, while professionally qualified applicants may be granted subject-specific university admission.

Furthermore, some degree programs may require additional qualifications, such as specific language skills.
